Andy Murray loses alliance ahead of California tournament, makes desperate cry for help

He needs a helping hand.

Andy Murray has lost his wedding ring and asks for help in finding it.

The three-time Grand Slam champion, 34, explained the dilemma on Instagram, calling himself a “dumb” in the post.

While training for a tournament in Southern California, Murray’s shoes started to stink in his car because they were sweaty. To dry them off, he left the smelly sneakers under the car overnight, explaining that it seemed like the best plan at the time as his hotel room didn’t have a balcony.

But when he got back to the car on Wednesday morning, the sneakers were gone. As Murray said, it was not “the end of the world, but obviously not the ideal”. He bought new ones from a local pro shop.

However, his physio reported a bigger problem. The tennis champion attaches his wedding ring to his shoes while training and playing. He had left it strapped to his shoes while they sat under the car.

“My wedding ring was also stolen,” Murray said. “Needless to say, I’m in the wrong books at home, so I want to try and find it.”

Murray admitted that “in hindsight it sounds like a terrible idea, but I need help.” Her mother, Judy Murray, commented on the post with the facepalm emoji.

Murray opens the game at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, Calif. On Friday night against Adrian Mannarino.
