“We were going to go back to Spain, just the two of us, go back to the beach bar where he proposed to me, and renew our vows in private. Beverley, 64, is gorgeous but says she’ll take a more relaxed approach on the big day.

It will be an informal affair, with only close family and friends joining them.

Here, Bev tells us about the shoot and laid-back shots for a romantic beach party…

Hi, Bev! Did you enjoy doing this shoot?

It was unbelievable. It was at the Mandarin Oriental and when I went to the ladies,

I was shocked that the toilet seat was heated! It was very luxurious. It was just amazing and the clothes were amazing.

So tell us, what have you tried?

Very glamorous outfits! Maybe even a little too glamorous for me. They weren’t traditional wedding dresses. Everyone preferred the first one – a peach maxi layered net with a black ribbon around the waist. I felt like a princess, a bit old, but a princess!

Did Jon like his outfits?

He’s tried on all kinds of costumes, from gorgeous suits to relaxed pants with linen shirts, that’s what I think he’ll go for.

Which of the dresses you tried on did he like the most?

He liked the powder blue jumpsuit. He’s the same as most men in that he thinks the more revealing the better. But that’s not for me at all. It would have been for Liz McDonald [her Corrie character] – but not for Beverley!

What colors are you thinking of for the big day?

Muted tropical colors, something quite sweet. Definitely not white because I don’t want to look like a geriatric bride!

So how would you describe your style?

I am very laid back. I don’t really wear skirts or dresses. I always wear baggy jeans, leggings or sweatpants. I much prefer not to wear makeup at all.

Will you be wearing vow renewal pants?

No, I think it could be some kind of flowing beach dress. It’s August, so it’s going to be hot. I think the less you wear the better, but I won’t be wearing anything revealing.

Describe your original wedding dress …

I had two Suzanne Neville dresses. An ivory for the day then a cherry color for the evening. They were very corseted and fitted, so this one will be just the opposite.

What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?

All of my dearest friends were bridesmaids. There were 22 of them and they all wore little black dresses of different styles. It was at Hazlewood Castle in Yorkshire.

There’s a picture of them all together on the grand staircase and I just thought, “I have best friends all over the world. It was unbelievable.

What made you want to renew your wedding vows?

Last October, Jon and I had been married for 10 years. We’ve been together for 20 years, but we’ve been married 10 years. Containment meant we couldn’t celebrate. Then Jon proposed to me again when I left I’m A Celeb. He said he was so proud of me and if we weren’t married he would ask me to start all over again, so why not? We were just going to go back to Spain, just the two of us, go back to the beach bar where he first proposed to me, and renew our vows in private. But I mentioned it on I’m A Celeb and it snowballed a bit! We always go back to this bar, it will be very nice. It is a wooden beach bar and it is still very old fashioned. It is a Spanish property, by two brothers, and they know us very well because we have been going there for years. The food is exceptional. It’s not glamorous at all, it’s just good traditional Spanish and we love it.

Who is on the guest list?

It’s going to be small, only 20 of our very close friends and family. It is not at all a showbiz story, on the contrary. I told them all it’s not formal so wear comfortable clothes and have fun.

How will the day work?

We are going to make the vows in a friend’s villa, by the pool with a flowery arch. When we arrive we have tapas and sangria and then have a huge Spanish barbecue and a huge paella – and a vegan paella for me. Then we have a little beach bar party later. It’s very relaxed but we booked flamenco dancers and a Spanish group.

Will you write your own vows?

We are in the process of writing them but we continue to modify them. We don’t know what the other will say to each other. They won’t last very long, they will just be brief and intimate. I think some of our friends will surprise us with speeches because some of them have known us for many years.

Are your and Jon’s kids excited for both of you?

Yes, they are really excited. We don’t have a wedding party as such, everyone will be just there together. The kids are so happy – any excuse for a party!

Will you have more rings?

We think we’re going to give ourselves a personal gift, but we don’t know what yet.

Are you still planning to move to Kent?

We’re definitely heading south as soon as we can organize ourselves. I think it will be Kent but we’re not sure exactly yet. Most of my work is there now. Our kids are all big and scattered all over the place, so we don’t have to be tied to just one area.

I think it will happen in the next six months or so.

Did you manage to make your motorhome trip through Europe?

Not yet. If we are allowed, we could come back from the renewal of vows in the motorhome. It just depends on traveling through France. We would really like to go to Lake Como in Italy too.

What makes your relationship work?

It sounds really mushy and romantic, but we have a love like no other. We fight to talk to and listen to each other, and he makes me laugh every day. He’s amazing and he’s my world.

Jon said you’ve had more time together since you left Corrie. Did it strengthen your relationship?

It’s just amazing. If we are separated from each other now, we talk on the phone 50 times a day!
