Wedding vows

Bindi Irwin issues emotional wedding vows for all to see

“Chandler, when I went to write my vows, I found out that I couldn’t stop writing them,” she wrote in a lengthy Instagram post.

“I started by sharing all the ways you make my life beautiful and wrote almost a thousand words. Then I moved on to writing about what an amazing person you are and I needed a new pen. Finally, I wanted to share all my hopes for the future and ran out of notebook paper.

“We’ve been a team through life’s wonderful ups and downs. You held my hand as we ran towards each new adventure, ”she said.

The 21-year-old referred to her father Steve Irwin, who was killed in 2006 by a stingray at Batt Reef near Port Douglas, while filming the documentary Ocean’s Deadliest.

“My father used to say that I couldn’t marry anyone unless they could swim across the crocodile pond first. And now here you are, helping us with our regular crocodile demonstrations, ”said the Australia Zoo ecologist.

“One of your jobs is to jump into the water with our bigger crocodiles to encourage them to come home!”

“They say there is a time when you know you fell in love with someone, for me it was watching you happily jump into the water with a 15ft crocodile and then tell me how you enjoyed it. “

The couple married on March 25 in a very intimate ceremony thanks to the coronavirus lockdown restrictions.

With only a small number of witnesses by their side, the Warrior of the wildlife and Chandler Powell are now “happily happy” as newlyweds and look forward to celebrating with your friends and family at a later date.

Bindi then promised Powell that she would stay by his side “through every turn and ride the world brings us.”

She also said that she would help him to be her “strength and her light” and to say “I love you” before going to bed each night “no matter what our day has brought”.

“Chandler, thank you for loving me for me. You love me when I laugh uncontrollably or fall asleep at 6 p.m. You validate what unconditional love really means, ”she said.

“You have been my best friend for over six years. You make me smile every day since I first met you. It’s amazing and so are you.

Irwin concluded the vows by referencing the Parks and Recreation TV show.

“My husband, my teammate and conservation partner – to quote our favorite show: ‘I love you and I love you’.”
