Miracle at sea: wedding ring lost on the beach found on the occasion of a couple’s birthday
After losing her wedding ring while surfing, Jenny Urquhart from Bristol had no hope of getting it back.
Bristol, United Kingdom – After losing her wedding ring while surfing, Jenny Urquhart from Bristol had no hope of getting it back.
Nonetheless, the 45-year-old was ready to take his chances by sharing a sketch of the ring on Twitter on May 12.
In addition to the drawing, Urquhart wrote that she lost the wedding ring at Saunton Sands in Bristol on May 7, attaching a photo showing the approximate location on the beach.
The Briton was hoping someone with a metal detector could come in contact with her, but she didn’t hear a thing for a while, the Daily Star reported.
“I just thought that was it, he was going to be swallowed by a big fish,” the artist said, according to the report.
But then, about two months later, a metal detector named Mark contacted Urquhart to tell him he had searched along the beach.
He asked her for a more precise description of where she had lost the ring. Hopeful, Urquhart sent him a sketch.
Soon after, Mark contacted Urquhart again and wrote, “Guess what! He had found the jewel!
The stunned woman couldn’t believe her eyes.
“I showed my husband Mark’s message and he said it was our anniversary – I had completely forgotten!”
What a special moment!
“Stuart looked as amazed as I did,” she continued.
“It’s just one thing, it’s not a very valuable ring – but losing it was really heartbreaking. I’m so grateful.”
