Moving moment, the newlyweds get married a second time so the bride’s grandmother, 90, can watch the ceremony through her care home window as she secludes herself during the pandemic

A newlywed couple made a lovely gesture for the bride’s grandmother, getting married a second time so that she could attend a private ceremony.
Virginia Cannon, 90, broke down in tears when she saw her granddaughter, also named Virginia, and husband Harvey Sydnor getting married through the window of her care facility in Richmond, Virginia.
Harvey, 51, and Virginia, 36, were first married on October 10, 2020 – but when Virginia’s grandmother was unable to attend due to health reasons and the pandemic, the couple wanted go out of her way to make sure she doesn’t miss out on the wedding.

The new bride spoke to Windsor Senior Center Director of Operations Christina Scott to see if there was anything more to do.
She was told her grandmother could not leave the center due to the risk of Covid-19, however, Ms Scott suggested that a ‘mock wedding’ could be arranged at the facility.
Mr Sydnor, from Richmond, Va., Said: “At first I was just going through the motions of the ceremony.
“It was only later that I could see the reactions of his grandmother.
“It brings tears to my eyes every time I see the video and the joy in her voice to see her granddaughter walking down the aisle.
“Whatever situation you find yourself in, make the most of it.
“Keep the feelings and health of others in mind. Do the little extra to make someone else smile and you will reap the rewards.
“COVID is a situation – we just have to get around it. “
The whole wedding party got dressed for the second time so Ms. Cannon could see their outfits
The couple even created a second wedding cake for their repeated special day.
Mr Sydnor, pictured with his wife Virginia, said he was surprised by the emotion of the ceremony.
